On December 21, 2013, ferocious wind and damaging hailstorms are scheduled to move through the Brazos Valley area. Wind and hail can cause extensive damage in the area including tearing down power lines and leaving approximately 14,000 households without electricity. High winds bring another terrifying scenario as a result of the storm can bring winds high enough to take roofs off of entire commercial properties.
What to Do After the Storm
After a storm, there is always corresponding destruction ranging from small to extensive property damage, specifically to the many building roof Houston Tx households. The devastating and destructive effects of a storm should encourage each household to be prepared for such a devastating event. If such an event occurs, they need to concentrate on fixing any damage that may have happened to their property, especially to the roofing system.
The best action to perform after a violent storm is to remember the word ‘ICE’ (Inspect-Call-Expect):
- Inspect the roof first to see if there are any areas that need to be fixed or if the roof has sustained so much damage that it needs to be replaced.
- Call the insurance company to help speed up the process of filing an insurance claim for any storm damage.
- Expect that there will always be a response to every action – either positive or negative.
Impact Resistant Roofing
On the negative side, the College Station roofer could need to be completely replaced; on the positive side, the insurance company will cover most, if not all, of the expenses less applicable deductibles. For those living in areas where there may be ten or more storms per year, consider replacing the roof with impact resistant roofing material.
An impact resistant roof is the revolutionary approach to preventing homeowners from spending hundreds of dollars and controlling insurance company payouts each year. This new technology in high impact roofing material allows roofs to withstand the impact of severe weather conditions. Moreover, impact-resistant roofs are designed to counteract the damage from the force of hail and high winds. This type of roof can certainly be the answer to the dilemma of many homeowners who live in areas where ferocious storms are simply a normal way of life.
No matter how many storms there are in one area, there will be no need to worry as the home will be extremely secure with its new high impact roof. Replacing the roof after a storm with an impact resistant product will allow every household to be on the safe side of the road and avoid replacing that roof! High impact roofs are also rated by College Station insurance companies, which will provide homeowners an extended discount on their rates.

You’re exactly correct. Be sure to always discuss things in detail with your insurance provider. Each company and area is different. Even though we’re a College Station based company with branches in Houston, Bryan, Navasota, Brenham, and in between; there are different rules and regulations for each area. For example the wind ratings in Houston are different from those in College Station because of proximity and distance to the coast.
