Health Science Center
A recent expansion to the Texas A&M Health Science Center, a component of Texas A&M University, was a government sponsored project.
Background
Texas A&M Health Science Center Expansion
Schulte Roofing successfully executed a sophisticated 52,587-square-foot roofing project for the Texas A&M Health Science Center expansion, a government-sponsored initiative demanding precision and technical expertise.
Challenges
The ten-story building presented unique challenges, requiring specialized solutions for its varied slopes and intricate roof design. The facility’s specialized areas, including a morgue, incinerators, and laboratories, necessitated custom ventilation systems and precisely engineered roof penetrations. Our approach included close collaboration with manufacturers, incorporating weekly on-site inspections to ensure meticulous quality control throughout the installation process.
Solutions
Our in-house capabilities, including certified crane operators and a custom metal shop, enabled us to overcome the building’s height challenges while fabricating specialized flashings for the roof’s unique configuration. We employed specific primers and materials to enhance the metal roofing‘s longevity, ensuring optimal performance for this facility.
